chalky
Did any of you know that the TR3 has been produced in kit form? I didn't until I came across one on this site. It looks pretty good. Have a look. I would welcome any comments from you folk on the merits of these kits and whether they are still available today. Just interested. www.cresswellclassics.com Chalky
j-eichert
Hello there, it seems to me as if somebody put together a Spitfire "frame" and a TR3A- body. So in my mind not a kit car, but a "make 1 car out of 2". I would have thought of the same thing the aother way around: Implanting the 2l- engine into a Spitfire. But this gives a 65hp- TR3A . What is it good for? Maybe an improved suspension compared to the live rear axle, but no power to use it Cheers
tr3timme
Hi, Chalky: I agree with Johannes. It looks extremely dodgy, on what appear to be 13" wheels. It seems to have "long" doors and the rear apron is wrong - or at least the distance between the indicators is. Price seems rather optimistic too - I'd rather have a proper, basket case, 3A to start off with - at least you'd know what you're facing. I notice that Cresswell do have a rather interesting '35 Reliant van, though, which looks genuine enough! Cheers, Tim.
Don Elliott
From the name of this thread "Kit Car" I immediately pictured that the photos were showing a fiberglass bodied TR3A on a doner frame - a Spitfire. If so, I feel it's a kit car.
