AndrewMAshton
Ray, I had the same problem, it was caused by the steering column being pushed up against the outer column (I think), the horn used to sound when I braked, it is now cured 99% of the time by tightening the upper and lower steering column clamps, this stops the inner column moving and earthing, cheers, Andrew
ChrisR-4A
Hi Ray, check the gap between the steering wheel boss and the fixed part of the column shroud, this needs to be about 2-3 mm Chris
Steve_B
I had a similar situation a few weeks ago, the horn would sound randomly as I was driving along, more so around bends and uneven road surfaces. Turned out the small brass screw inside the horn push assembly in the steering wheel had started to come loose and was causing it to make and break contact. Nipping it up solved the problem.
