PeteT
Hi Sage ones, I am planning to change the cam in my low port 2.2 engined TR2 after the summer as I noticed the hardened surface was showing signs of wear on one lobe. I love the massive torque the engine produces but I'm also addicted to the power. I have read that some mildly uprated cams are 'torque biased' and was wondering if it may be possible to have my cake and eat it? IE fit a cam that gives more BHP and retains as much of the torque as possible. Or is that an oxymoron? Regards, Pete
AlanT
Piper Cams once told mr that TR camshafts are not case-hardened but are hard all the way through. I've always wondered if this is true. I rather think it is.
PeteT
Hi Alan, I rather think it's not. Plenty of testimony in previous threads on this topic. I had a choice of two and the other one was much worse. Regards, Pete
