MX5 bolted direct to the floor using adapters (home made or from one of the usual suppliers), slight modes needed to MX5 seat runners to fit.

fit well and very comfortable. Slightly higher than standard seats so can be a problem if you are very tall.

Common suggestion is the Mazda MX5 seats, using different runners or adapting the Mazda stock runners for the 6.

There's a writeup on it here

I have MX5 seats using the tall driver fitting kit from TR Trader which makes them no higher than standard seats. I did have some issues with the mounting kit though and ended up driilling some new holes in the spreaders to obtain the correct spacing utilising the original seat mounting holes in the floor pan of my 73 TR6. Ebay is a rich source of seats just takes awhile to find good ones.

If you are tall it is recommended to cut the runners.

When the seat bottom is sliding over the floor the

position is good for tall people.

This enforces not to weld a crossmember between the TR6 mounting points

although that would make fitting easier. That space is requiered to bring seat down.

Smaller people benefit from a higher front connection that gives a nice rest for the legs.

This version is often offered from some suppliers for conversion.

Tall people should look for the NA seat versions with separated head rests.

They not only look better in the old car but also can be extended to

a suitable height to support the neck.

Another benefit is when to fit the tonneau cover the headrest easily

can be taken out of the seat to fit.
