graeme
I have a problem with my TR6 15 ACR alternator. The IND lamp is glowing and gets brighter when the engine is revved. I have 13.6V on the ign switch side (white) and also the output from the alternator. The otherside of the IND lamp (brown/yellow wire) has 17.6V. Is this fault likely to be caused by the regulator or diode pack? Cheers Graeme
Lebro
If the brown / yellow wire has 17.6V on it, then the regulator is not doing it's job, the odd thing is that the main O/P has not tried to follow it up, but is only at 13.6V. May be worth checking your earthing between body / chassis / engine. Circuit attached (I hope) http://www.tb-training.co.uk/images/Image138.gif Bob.

graeme
Thanks for your help. It was the diode pack that had a defective diode allowing the 17.6 V to the warning light. Cheers Graeme
