TR7 V8 tax and insurance

Recommended Posts

Road tax is currently £225 annually, what you use the car for has no relevance.

Insurance . . . . how long is a piece of string ? The Towergate TR scheme would probably accommodate commuting, and so probably could Peter James.

It is worth making the effort to check and declare the usually considerable number of variations against a standard TR7 (or even TR8) specification - to avoid any arguments with insurers in the event of a claim. Usual story, you're an enthusiast not a consulting motor engineer, if you do your amateur best to explain what's been done, and your MoT station confirm that the car is safe and that your account seems reasonable, you're unlikely to have any future problems.

Classic insurance is not high on TR7V8s, certainly not for a car of the performance, it doesn't make sense to skimp on the honest declarations. The amount involved in premium terms is minimal - but the future consequence of knowingly telling porkies could be bankruptcy.

Cheers
