I have seen references to "later TR4s" having Strombergs without actually being export models. Mine has Strombergs, but I am curious to know if they were later fitments to my car [Comm No CT35233]. RAHTR4 Posted April 28, 2013 Report Share Posted April 28, 2013 Hi Willie, Original Triumph TR states that the carbs were changed to Strombergs at engine CT21471E. So from this it appears that your car is fitted with its original type of carbs. The engine should also have the later type inlet manifold - 307455 - plus cylinder head - 511695. I would get a copy of the Moss catalogue which provides this same information - a great publication, so much detail on the changes and start points.
