jbenajes
Hello. What is the route for the drain hoses from the vent box and the battery box? I suppose that they are joined together at some point before crossing the hole on the gearbox cover panel. Any photos to illustrate? Thanks for reading and for your help Jesus
Don Elliott
They do not join. The black rubber hose from the bottom of the battery box feeds through a hole in the top front center of the interior carpet over the gearbox and then through a hole in the steel tunnel which covers the gearbox. The hose that drains the vent area drains down and out through a hole in a rubber plug on an early TR3A but on later TR3As, there is only a hole in the bulkhead (firewall). In either case on a Left Hand Drive TR3A it appears down below the rear carb and below where the heater hose goes to the bulkhead. The green TR3A is a later TR. The empty hole you see in the photo just below the heater hose is for the choke cable. On my very early TR3A which has the option of fitting for a RHD TR3A, there is a hole in the center of the rubber seal where the steering column would come through on a RHD TR.
