PI Metering Unit service in Oz - or ship to UK?

Recommended Posts

Just before I pulled the dash etc out to get to the heater (some months ago now  ) I noticed a slight fuel weep from the PI which has not been off the car for years - well before the advent of unleaded. I'd like to get the seals replaced, and all recommendations suggest not to do it ones self.

So, any can any Aussies here suggest anywhere to get it done locally that they would recommend? Otherwise I will look into shipping to UK for refurb/exchange.

Cheers

Stallie,

Gregs name came up when I looked but the price was..well...see what you can get and compare with shipping and refurb to the UK. In my experience it was cheaper doing the latter option (QLD may as well be in the UK as its still postage and not a local person as such).

In the end, I was lucky enough for Alec P to offer assistance with a 2nd hand unit he had, so it worked out MUCH cheaper.

Perhaps see if you can get a reasonable MU from someone in the UK (either on here or Ebay) and post it to your preferred refurb person. That way you can avoid some of the postage costs of sending yours back.

Can personally recommend Neil Ferguson (K Raven Smith) who did a good job on the one from Alec..probably a good time to look at refurb injectors too.

Cheers
