Ken Bournes
I am having difficulties in wiring the volt meter gauge on my TR6 as all wiring informationcan find is on amp meter gauges. I do not want to connect anything without being 100% sure for fear of causing damage to the electrical circuits. Can anybody help me please?
Alan Gill
Hi Ken Wire the +ve side of the volt meter to fuse box Term A3 (this is same circuit as the coil +ve) and the -ve side to chassis/body (earth). This means that the voltmeter will only operate when you switch the ignition ON. If you plan to remove the ampmeter, then I have more details on this. Infomation gleened from TR Action magazine. TRTerry
Tr6's from 1973 were fitted with a voltmeter instead of an Ammeter and they are wired differently. This useful attachment shows all of the various TR6 and TR250 wiring circuits in colour! I could only upload one image, and then not in it's best resolution. But if you search for Dan Masters TR6 wiring, I think you should find the rest.
