ctc77965o
Mark, Some years since I did it, but one thing that's becoming more important is liberal use of a hi quality cam lube. You may or may not believe the ZDDP additive stories (in engine oil), but I'd say it's an experiment not worth trying... most of the stories about premature failures seem to refer to recently rebuilt engines... So I would use the cam lube and then fill the engine with a 20/50 Diesel Engine oil for the running-in period (still with lots of additives due to higher stresses and no catalyst problems) Any tips? Sequence of activities and some do's and dont's much appreciated.
RandallD
One step I recommend from your description - make sure you have the liners firmly secured. Espec ially since you do not have have front dog bolt removed yet, you don't want to unseat the liners accidentally by rotating the crankshaft.
