Jersey Royal
Hi All, I am about to replace the wheel studs to the hubs on the rear of my Tr3 As short studs were used originaly for wire wheels, and i will be fitting alloy or steel wheels of some description. They are the screw in variety, and i will fit them with Loctite 270, and then peen over on the rear, once the loctite has cured. My query is i cant find the fitting torque for these? anyone come across it? Cheers Guy
vivdownunder
Guy, there are two specifications to select from. Studs for steel wheels were quoted as 44 - 55 lb ft., as were the wheel nuts. Wire wheel hub extansion studs were 65 lb ft., as were the nuts. If you are fitting wider tyres with more grip, I'd lean towards using the higher figure. Regards, Viv.
