unclepete
any ideas on how to stop exhaust rattle at low speeds. she has a stainless system fitted. i have heard horror stories of jamming lumps of wood between the body and the exhaust and would prefer to try something more 'engineered'. what about stainless steel cable ties, i have access to these but would like to hear some ideas before 'fiddling about'. Dennis Nelson
I complained off and on to my mechanic about the exhaust rattle, and eventually they found that my problem was a loose bolt at the manifold that needed to be replaced, as it wasn't really tightening properly. Now it is quiet 95% of the time.
Don Elliott
When I restored my TR3A in 1987 to 1990, Russell Scott at the then Cox & Buckles suggested that I put in a center mount from a TR4 which is an improvement over the original side screen mount. It has never rattled in over 78,000 miles since 1990. Don Elliott, Original Owner, 1958 TR3A, Montreal, Canada (Still in London - enjoyed Gaydon yesterday)
unclepete
i have noticed that the stainless system fitted is 'huge' probably why it is rattling. what size bore is standard?
