Oddball
Hi All I have a 71 TR6 fitted with a Racetoration 6,2,1 manifold and their single pipe free flow exhaust system. The car is also fitted with triple 40 Webers and between the exhaust and the carbs is pretty noise. I'm considering fitting a second box to the system and wondered if anyone else has done this and if so what they used, and how it sounded. Any comments appreciated Cameron. Guest harry dent
Hi Cameron, Phoenix now make a quieter straight through silencer. This was developed for the German TUV market as they are more stringent than us on noise. Regards Harry TR5 nutter.
Oddball
Thanks Harry, I'll give them a ring . Strange they don't have a website! Cameron
tim_trinda
Strange they don't have a website! They do have a web-site, but its not much use unless you have an MG F! http://www.phoenixexhausts.co.uk/ ======== Tim
Red 6
Cameron, I had a similar system on my race car and fitted the phoenix pipe and silencer and got the noise down to 103db. My system was 2/12" and the phoenix is 2/14" but it fitted with a n adaptor which Paul at phoenix supplied ie a sleeve which fitted into the manifold and over the centre pipe. If you want it quieter then back to std (no way!) or try to fit a small intermediate box but where!
