Thanks for that link Viv as I had actually sent an email to Smithees well over a week ago and have yet to get a reply. That link gives me some prices to work from. deadair
So I'm asking for ideas,I'm not an originality fiend so not averse to useful improvements. If you want to emphasize driveability over originality, then you might consider installing a Toyota Supra transmission: http://shop.eaglegatellc.com/
Mychael
If you want to emphasize driveability over originality, then you might consider installing a Toyota Supra transmission: http://shop.eaglegatellc.com/ Hmmm, bit too radical for my taste. I'm thinking more along the lines of chassis work/suspension work whilst I am at the chassis stage. I've not found the TR 'box' to be too bad, I stay clear of stop/start traffic (no 1st syncro) but love the O/D and the feel of the box. Actually just sent it off for overhaul, fitting higher first gear (still no syncro) and a 25/28% O/D reduction. Have not decided on which as yet. However whilst on gearboxs has anyone tried the hydraulic release mechanism that ractorations have? bit expensive though for me here it would be over $600.
