Hi Geoff,

 

synthetic enamel if you're brush painting, hard wearing and economical from any car paint factor - that's my preference, even if it is slow drying. And use a decent metal primer, from the same source . . . . The diy store variety I avoid like the plague, invariably expensive and rarely good quality.

Hi Alec,

 

Thanks for the tip. There are so many paints out there so it's better to ask other people for their experiences rather than go by trial and error!

 

I'll give it a try.
