Ollie
Does anyone know the best way to balance the prop shaft? ie, separately in several pieces or as one complete assembly including UJ's? And, does anyone know who can do this, near to Reading? Backgound is: i have had my engine balanced (it was a bit rough) and now I have unmasked a very noticable vibration in the car, which appears speed related (not rev related) eg at about 70mph, doesn't feel through the steering wheel (ie not the wheels). Any thoughts?
TR 2100
Does anyone know the best way to balance the prop shaft? Best way, as in cheap and worth trying is an Alec Pringle trick. Put a jubliee clip around the propshaft - test drive and check the vibration. Better or worse? Move the jubilee clip arounf the propshaft and try again. Note the positions and effect of the clip. You can always add a small additional weight if need be. AlanR
jerrytr5
Replace all the uj's and send it to Recoprop in Luton. Or get them to fit the uj's if you're feeling lazy. I have a feeling that they do a collection service.
