88V8
I cut about 1" off the new front number plate so it fits properly in the recess of the 205 front bumper, but neither the MOT chap nor the Plod have queried it. Perhaps they only bother those who have paid a lot for their plates. Maybe the DVLA sends them a list of people to persecute. Should be safe in our old banger Ivor
PILKIE
One good thing about older cars and the plates, is that most plod these days are only up on current car legislation! The spacing and font used were different over the years! I made my own plates up for the rover,at a lot less than getting them made! If a copper were to ask me about them, they have been on the car for donkeys years!!! i have it on good authority!! My uncle is an Inspector!! As long as the font isnt something blatantly incorrect!!,and it is not one of these anti reflective camera dodgers! like lots of boy racers seem to have these days!! They do target those young drivers!! They leave us classic car nuts alone as they have better things to do!!

We are easy targets - cash ready to pay the fine. Try that with your local mugger/robber!
