PaulR
Winter is allegedly over so CT24520 is back on the road after her winter paint job. However she is idling at 1000 rpm with both the throttle stops screwed in so that they don't touch the the throttle stop flange. With the cost of fuel I think it prudent to lower her idle, anyone got any ideas? Timing is about 7 degrees, contacts gap ok, carbs are balanced as much as poss, mixture allright on colourtune. new choke cable so all well there.
kob666e
Are the throttle adjusters on the choke linkage keeping the throttle open a bit?
Nigel Lay
Try a squirt of oil round the throttle spindles on the carbs, could be worn spindles. Thought I was going to get away with it when I rebuilt the 2, no way - would not idle below 1100 rpm. Rebuilt the carbs with new standard spindles and all was OK. The oil will tell you if it is sucking in air around the spindles. Nigel (with TS952)
