Devs
Hi I need to replace the battery on my TR2. Rather then run off to a specialist and pay a wedge, can anyone make me aware of the minimum number of Amps my new battery should be, as I figured any off the shelf battery from Halford's that meets the minimum specification should be sufficient. Or is it all together more complex with regards to starting power and recharging times Thanks
Don Elliott
Most people will use any battery of the correct size. They all have adequate output. I used two alternate batteries and they lasted 5 or 6 summers each with trickle charging while in storage during the winters. Also, I'm on my 3rd LUCAS battery right now and these have lasted me about the same period. I have done this to keep the look original.
Geo_Hahn
Most people will use any battery of the correct size... That is what I do, just get whatever will almost fill the battery box. Mine are not as nice looking as Don's but I do peel off all the original labels, replace the triplet filler caps with vintage single filler caps and slap on a couple of Lucas labels so it doesn't look totally out of place in there.
