kevink
Hi all. I'm seeking recommendations about the "best" engine oil to use on my 1963 TR4. The engine has an aftermarket cooler, runs very well, only gets a bit hot when in slow moving traffic/long idle. I'm taking her to Ireland for 10 days in August so want to chuck a bottle of oil in the boot. I also have the (aargh) inevitable 1-2 small rust spots making their appearence (small one on bonnet, left rear wing near tail light). What do you all recommend - treating the rust spots immediately and going for a respray? Many thanks. Kevin
67_gt6
For oil I recommend Millers Semi Synthetic Classic Sport 20w50. Expensive, but hard wearing and maintains extremely stable pressures when hot because of the high levels of synthetic base fluids. http://www.millersoils.net/M3_cgi/millers2...ic&cart_id= andy
Ade-TR4
Make sure your engine has properly run-in before switching to a semi-synth oil. cheers ade
MadMarx
Castrol RS 10W60 would be mine choice. Or the 0W40 version for road use. Cheers Chris
