The TR Register exists to preserve the marque; within the Derbyshire Dales Group of the Register we intend to make the experience enjoyable and fun along the way!
We welcome new members, with or without cars; but if you don't have one – (yet!) - don't be surprised if a certain amount of persuasion is administered to encourage you to become an owner! We will of course provide all the necessary assistance and advice in abundance to make sure you buy the right car – we never miss an opportunity to spend another's money.
We also welcome owners of other classic cars; but you will get your leg pulled if you arrive in an MG! Any MG!
We normally meet on the second Wednesday of each month to wander around the car park kicking tyres if the weather is nice or just to sit inside having a natter if it's not. As we are currently reviewing our club night venue the location and date will be noted in advance on our 'Derbyshire Dales Upcoming Events' section above. We have an expert on every problem (or, often, more than one – each with differing opinions) that you may encounter, so this is THE place to get your advice. Throughout the 'warmer' months, when we have longer daylight, we are also meeting on the fourth Tuesday at The Crispin, Great Longstone DE45 1TZ.
We also discuss and plan the activities that we want to get up to - just look at the calendar of events to see how busy our members can be. We organise everything from local pub lunches to car trips to the extremities of Europe. We have quiz nights, barbeques, pie nights, chip shop runs, trips to museums, and also raids on other local clubs' nights; you name it, we can do it. Many of the Group attend national classic car events within the UK and abroad - Spa, Le-Mans, Angouleme, Pau, and Laon, being just a few. All of this in our TRs, of course as;
"Nowhere is far in a TR".
Neither are we a male-only preserve, joint car interest between couples is the norm and we include a lady owner in our membership. So if you are thinking of joining us please make sure that your husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, or partner, knows that he/she would be made to feel most welcome also.
The essence of the Derbyshire Dales TR Group is friendship and shared interest; to enjoy the experience;… and have a ball while we are at it.
But….. don't forget to polish the car in the meantime!
