AlanT
Readers of TR-Action may know that I rebuild wiper-motors. I intended to stay on the earlier square types. But I bought a "job-lot", I like to do this, and got some 16W motors and gears. So I'd like to ask forum members for a bit of help with these, because I think they were used on wedge Triumphs. That's the first bit of help, am I right about that? If so can anybody tell me what sweep angle is required? Building up this kind of knowledge will help me to put these to good use. Al. AlanT
Thanks for your reply. I assume that these DON'T have reverse-parking? And so the self-parking switch would be fixed on the outside face of the area where the gear is fitted? Al.
modelbuilder
Does this help Al? Edited September 15, 2017 by modelbuilder
AlanT
Helps a lot. So these use the wire-rack with the tiny tab that breaks off easily. If this is an original TR7/8 motor can you tell me the pat-number on the plate. This is really useful information, thanks for replying. AlanT
Thanks again for your efforts. These motors are a good bit more waterproof than the square ones. I'd expect them to be reliable except for brush wear. I quire easily replaced the brushes on mine all of which were well worn. Ask me if you have a problem with this. Wayne Scott
Don't forget these motors are also used in the headlamp lift mechanisms!
