Shropshire Group's Report for TR Action 345
Shropshire Group’s monthly meetings continue to be well supported with our room at The Fox & Hounds sometimes reaching bursting point. April’s meeting was a case in point with many TRs in the car park as more and more cars have come out of hibernation.
Following on from the success of The Snowdrop Run, it was disappointing that The Daffodil Run to Powis Castle had to be cancelled. However, all was not lost – the route has now been recycled as “The Drive It Day Run to Powis Castle”!
A few Shropshire members joined Stoke Group at Foxfield Railway’s Spring Vintage and Classic Vehicle Rally on 2nd April. This was enjoyed by all.
Easter Sunday saw 20 TRs on our stand at The Weston Park Classic Motor Show. This is the first show we attend each year but it has occasionally been called off due to snow. This year, the weather was with us. The show has had a resurgence over the last couple of years and was very busy. The trade and autojumble stands did brisk business.
Work has been progressing with the organisation of our Spring Tour to Dumfries and Galloway, which will take place in mid-May. We will have 19 cars on the tour and choices of runs have been planned for each day.
A few members attended the TR Register AGM at Gaydon. Shropshire Group member. Peter Napier, was presented with a Gold Award. Peter is very active within the Club and, as well as organising runs, he is deeply involved with other events, particularly our annual tours. He is also our Webmaster and edits and publishes the Shropshire Group magazine, TR Torque. A well-deserved award.
