46th Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle 9th & 10th July 2022.
This premier vintage motoring spectacular brings together over 1800 vehicles representing a wide array of transport comprising veteran, vintage and classic vehicles and machinery. In addition to the vehicles the event attracts over 150 Stands including auto jumble, motor trade, antiques and fundraising stalls.
Our preparation for Glamis started on Friday afternoon, putting the gazebo up on our club stand and finding we had a great pitch among the other car clubs. Saturday brought fantastic weather and we finished off the club stand with the banners, sail flag and another gazebo. We had an excellent display of cars including a Peerless, along with a selection of TR`s. We had a lot of interest from the public and handed out some membership application forms and TR Action magazines.
Saturday evening saw us attend a meal at the Finavon Hotel to celebrate 50 years of the TR Register. This was a brilliant evening with lots of laughs, good food and company. To finish our meal Stephen had brought along a superb cake, decorated with TR`s, to celebrate 50 years of the TR Register which was a fitting end to such a great day.
Sunday saw us all back at Glamis and the temperatures soared making it very uncomfortable, so full use was made of the gazebo to try to keep in the shade. Members took the opportunity of browsing the various traders and autojumble stands, picking up some bargains.
There were many visitors to our stand who were offered 50th TR Register Birthday cake to celebrate the success of our club.
Steve and Duncan cooked a BBQ for our lunch which was a bonus.
The club has had a stand at Glamis for many years, and it is certainly a great event.
