Glavon Group join Wye Dean Group on their 'Run With Clues' - 24th September 2023

This year's 'Run With Clues' started and finished at Much Marcle near Ledbury, with lots of great roads, lovely scenery and brain-teasing questions in between!

The rendezvous was at Weston's cider factory restaurant where they served bacon and sausage sandwiches washed down with copious supplies of tea and coffee rather than the product for which they are famous.

The skies were dark and there was some light drizzle in the air as the cars set off, but this soon cleared and it became very warm in the sunshine. There were 65 questions requiring answers en route, some rather tricky and others where more than one answer seemed to fit, but otherwise they were thankfully unambiguous. 

There were some lovely roads and beautiful views along the route which eventually took us to The Royal Oak at Much Markle for lunch. There was much banter about how well people thought they had done and things that had happened along the way. It turned out that John and Yvonne had only become temporarily misplaced a couple of times and on one occasion had to stop a young lad on a scooter to ask directions.

Whilst we all enjoyed lunch, our answer papers were marked and unbelievably, it turned out that after 65 difficult questions, three teams had scored 64 correct answers: Jan and Chris Bryant, Nicola and Ruby Walker and Jill and Andy West. So a three-way dead heat, but only one team could take the cup home with them so after some tie break questions it ended with Andy and Jill West becoming this year's custodian.
