Glavon Group visit to The Royal Mint - 2nd February 2020
A total of 36 members and friends turned out on a wet blustery morning for the trip to Llantrisant, near Cardiff for a very interesting tour of the Mint, whose production figures are mind boggling in terms of weight, numbers and value. They produce coins for many different countries as well as Great Britain and also medals including those presented at the 2012 Olympics. The production facility can be viewed from spectator areas but for some reason we were not allowed onto the shop floor itself! The tour was concluded with a look around their fascinating museum and refreshments in the cafe.
