Helmingham, Diss, Bury and Coggeshall

Helmingham 5/August/2018

If you were not at Helmingham on Sunday you missed out, have a look at Abbott and Stour group on the TR Register website where Vince has a record of our stand with 12 - yes twelve cars displayed. This is not just a photograph but is a moving picture show, unfortunately as much as I increased the volume I could not hear the magnificent Wurlitzer in the background. Seriously thank you Vince for this and also for his work on the sweatshirts etc. which gave cause for a laugh as we were measured up at the show for more orders - thank goodness for Debbie's tape measure and a good sense of humour. If you would like to have your car on the stand (it does not have to be concours, mine certainly is not) then get in touch with Peter email peter.hudspith@gmail.com or myself as we still have Cars by the Lake 2/Sep/2018 and Henham 15/Sep/2018 coming up.

One of the best things about the shows are the people that you meet there. One gentleman that I was talking to had been the Technical Manager of Lucas who spent five years travelling the globe instructing mechanics (sorry vehicle technicians) on how to set up fuel injection. In ten minutes looking at my 6 I learnt more than I ever knew about the system.

Diss Transport Fayre 12/August/2018

Talking of shows, Diss is having a Transport Fayre on Sunday 12th of August. Sorry for the short notice but it does seem like a great event, participants are encouraged to wear period clothes (GL's wife states that anyone attending can borrow husbands current wardrobe). Have a look at the website of the Diss Express newspaper for details Diss Express. I have asked the organisers to let me know of the date for next year in order that we can plan to have a TR stand there. Make sure you look at the 2019 calendar as soon as we have it on site.

Bury WW1 Trail Walk

Bury is having a World War 1 trail walk until Armistice Day. This features 18 pieces of art in the town on a walk which Sally and I completed today. Well worth a visit, park in Ram Meadow (cheapest parking and near the tourist info site) get a map from the tourist info and enjoy the day. Its about 3 hours and you will learn a lot about the town. I would recommend doing this during the day in the week as less tourists and all the places with the exhibits should be open.

Coggeshall Breakfast 19/Aug/2018

As mentioned before, this will be the venue of the next breakfast meeting on Sunday 19th of August, if you would like to go let me know in order that I can pre warn the venue to get the hens laying!

Club Night 14/August/2018

Club night will be Tuesday 14th,unfortunately Sally and I will not be there, but entertainment has been made available if you have a good Triumph knowledge and a strange sense of humour.

We now have an area on YouTube, where you will find Video content created by us and others. Just Click on YouTube icon visible on all screens, once in YouTube click 'Playlist' for list of videos available.

For Sale

Finally, if anyone is interested Andrew Guttridge 01449-741673(Bildeston) has a Triumph 2000 Mk11 for sale. It is a complete car in reasonable order, engine and gearbox have been removed but are with the car as are some spares including spare diffs. Come to think of it this would be a great car to have in order to transport the gazebo, flag, table, chairs, cooker for bacon butties for shows.

Anyway, must close as have got to get son's Peugeot ready for his holiday - good old dad some say.
