It's Summer... (well it is this morning!)

It's Summer... (well it is this morning!)

For those of you unable to make 'Bob's April Showers Run' on 29th April, you missed out on a good drive through some deserted roads, the weather was kind to us and the meal at The Riverside in Mildenhall was brilliant. Thanks to Bob and Pat for their hard work in planning this.

So if you missed that there are plenty of things to look forward to. In no particular order (as my desk is in no particular order) we have:

1) 12th of June is 'Abbott & Stour Concours Night' at The Manger so get shining. As last year we will have Best TR, Best non-TR (can be non Triumph as well) and The Publicans Choice.

2) Next 'Breakfast Meeting' is 24th of June at The Copper Kettle, Kersey Mill, Kersey, Suffolk, IP76DP. Meeting there at 10.00am which is when they open, so a bit longer in bed! Please let me know if you are coming as I can then advise the staff, hopefully I will soon have a menu, again locally sourced food.

3) Dave Solomon, Wensum Group, has invited us to a 'Meeting of Local Groups' at The Royal George Church Road, Barningham, IP31 1DD on 3rd of June. This will start at 12.00 and you can either turn up to look at the cars and have a chat or include Sunday Lunch at the pub. If you wish to have a meal please ring the pub to book on 01359 221246.

4) Lea Valley Group have invited us to their 'Shine and Show Night' on Wednesday 18th of July, 5.00pm to 10.00pm at The Cock Inn, Broom, Beds, SG18 9NA. This is for all classic cars and is held in a large field at the rear of the pub. Anyone interested, maybe a run out there?

Our web area within the TR Register web site is now looking the best it has for years, thanks Vince for all your hard work. Now its our turn to support him as Vince would like you to e-mail him on vincejbaker@gmail.com.

a) 'Gallery' section - Here you can share photos you take at events past and future. Just e-mail your photos (minimum size 1MB) to him.

b) New 'Our Cars' section - If you would like to be included please send him a photo of the car plus one of yourself, just a portrait head shot again minimum size 1MB.

c) New 'Local Links' section - Add your local suppliers who may be of benefit to members, no guarantees can be given by the group, but if you know of any local businesses that are classic friendly let him know.

Finally a phone call from member Mike Willis advised me that he has sold his TR6 to TRGB. If anyone is interested in a 6, and if TRGB have still got it in stock it may be worth a look. It's a 1972 150bhp overdrive car in red, described as being in good condition overall but Mike said the interior/seats may need a bit of TLC. Mike has owned it for 30 years covering few miles and the previous owner was Ian Lavender of Dad's Army.
