Footwell Lamp

Recommended Posts

Hello chaps - Does anybody know where the Footwell lamp fits on a 1974 LHD. Found the wire on the loom but not sure what the lamp looks like or how it fits. Also got an issue sourcing the lamp which goes directly under the heater and choke controls. I think both are USA derivatives - any help much appreciated.

On my 74.5 there are two footwell lamps. The drivers side is a standard round 12v dash bulb that is in a holder that just snaps into a hole in a metal bracket attached to the dash near my right knee. On the passenger side there are two purple wires that go into a plastic bulb holder that is clipped to the metal dash near the passengers left knee. The bulb holder is only half covering the bulb which is small elongated bulb similar if not identical to the ones in the dash warning lamps.

The usual sources here in the US sell the lamp that goes into the illuminated panel for the controls. It is very small. You can even get a repro for that entire piece of trim at a price. You can see that lamp as item 73 on this page:

PM if you need some help sorcing one.
