Pete R
On engaging overdrive in any gear on my TR6 with A type box the revs rise momentarily until it engages. No problem disengaging or in use, other than when I tried to do a fast get away in 1st with it disengaged and got slippage, reduced revs and it went. My question is do you think it is a problem with the overdrive or clutch and if so what? Is there anything I can check or do before I may have to have the gearbox out? Many thanks. RogerH
Hi Pete, there are ways of testing the clutch that I'm sure somebody will explain. I find it odd that you say doing a fast getaway in 1st gear. There is no OD 1st. And trying OD 2nd with too much power could cause problems with the A type OD Roger
dblenk
i had a similar problem and it was the free wheel component at the rear of the overdrive i didnt know that and the full clutch was brand new it was the boys at ORS in Sheffield that sorted it for me David
