TR7 / Dolomite Sprint Timing Chain

Hello All,

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a Dolomite Sprint Duplex Timing Chain assembly to an TR7 8-Valve engine.

Is there a big enough space to get one into the timing cover and up through the gap at the front of the head?

That is exactly what I am unsure of, there is also the question of the support bracket, although some judicious 'bending' may be OK.

It may be a case of sourcing a camshaft sprocket to see if it is possible. I am also unsure if timing chain cover is common to the 8v and 16v engines.
