Andy Moltu
Hopefully Tom Cox has sorted the crunchy gear change on my Stag. The consequence of the dreadful synchros that were in circulation 10+ years ago. Too thin and didn't grip. His preference of the current supplies was the County ones as they had had disappointing results with the Bastuk ones. They are the same as found in the TR boxes. A bit of welding before it hits the road (found a poor old repair in a sill which will keep me occupied for a few days) However I did a bit of reading on line and found that someone in the USA has had the synchros manufactured in steel with a carbon friction surface rather than brass. $80 odd dollars each so not cheap. Has anyone tried them? The theory being the carbon grips better and steel durability.
Jtex60easy
I am totally out of my depth regarding Stag parts and I may be wasting your time here. I did, however, come across two US Stag engine specialists that may know of the parts you have in mind or someone in the Stag community who would have been capable of their manufacture. This is from Triumphexp.com, the Stag forum, entry #70 (13Oct2019) of What did you do with your Stag today?
