julie09
Help and guidance needed. Due to the hard top opening not standard I have had a new one made to fit the slightly lager opening. Now the problem the window is over size to allow for trimming to fit. I do not have the confidence to reduce the window size by sanding in case I over do it and then start again. Does any one know of someone who can fit non standard rear windows into hardtops.
iain
Ian, can’t you paper template the aperture of the hardtop and then map that onto your new screen and see just how far out you are? Just a thought ….probably not a good one. Iain
julie09
Thanks Iain, marking is not a problem, it is the sanding and not sanding off too much is the hard bit that. Hopefully I can find someone with experience.
iain
I guess someone who builds rally cars might have the skills? They use plastic windows routinely. Are Rally Preparation Service near you? https://rpsrally.com/ They might be able to help or suggest someone who can? Iain
julie09
Best tip so far Iain. I live in north Buckinghamshire so they are about 25 miles away. So a pleasant drive there and back soon. many thanks Ian
iain
Worth a try Ian, I have no experience of them, but they seem to do good work.
