R9mey
1955 TR2 I am reassembling the chassis I put new springs and shocks on the front And Recon lever arms on the back together with cleaned original springs The preload on the front and rear seem a bit much with the front hard down on the rubber bottom stop and the rear springs pushing the axle hard onto the chassis with bump stop in between I'm not sure what I expected but it all seems a bit stiff I know there is only the weight of the chassis to push down at the mo and the body, engine etc will add much more just checking if this is normal at this stage before going further Thanks Chris
stuart
Pretty much standard until you get the rest of the car assembled and the suspension has settled also FWIW you shouldnt tighten any of the suspension up until its fully built and settled properly. R9mey
Thanks for that As I thought but when you spend so much time on it alone you begin to doubt yourself Thanks for the reassurance
R9mey
Looks similar Not sure about the routing of the handbrake cable The outer portion seems too long but it is the correct one
stuart
The spiral wound outer is held back to the body with a spring to a small clip welded to the end of the prop tunnel on the body, that holds the excess up. R9mey
Great thanks Stuart I had seen the spring on the parts diagram but couldn't make sense of what it did It was long gone on the car before I dismantled Got it now I'll keep it tucked away untill the body goes on Brake lines and Wheel refurb next so I can get it rolling Thanks Chris Edited January 20, 2023 by R9mey

AJ2014
Hi Stuart, It possibly has in the past, that is still original metal and there were a few big dings in it from previous exploits Regards Ade
