Mark69 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Share Posted July 8, 2022 On the last couple of outings I have noticed the ammeter reading positive and negative intermittently. Today it’s in the negative section and is like a jack in the box when a electrical current is drawn. Battery reading when ticking over was 12.2 and off 12.5, cleaned alt connections still the same readings . Possible alternator failure? thanks Mark Quote Link to post Share on other sites
RobH Posted July 8, 2022 Report Share Posted July 8, 2022 Most likely the alternator Mark. If it has been in use for a considerable time the slip-ring and brushes may need replacement. The intermittent nature of the fault could be a poor contact there. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
