I've just tried robsport and can only buy the whole disc from rimmers. mak
Try S&S Preparations - they sell the Capri brake conversion. Mike I have been avoiding buying anything from them, but think I might have to.
Woodsie1971
Any paticular reason for avoiding S&S? I'm thinking of having my brakes uprated there, but when someone throws up a red flag like that, you've got to wonder.
Woodsie1971
Just to add on... Been to S&S today, as it's only up the road. And had a brew and a lengthy chat with Steve and Simon (Good cuppa, by the way!) After weighing up what really needed doing. I've gone and booked my drophead in for a brake upgrade. Not quite the Capri conversion, but certainly for something suited to what I'll be using the car for. If anyone is interested. I'll let all the insomniacs know what the difference is like after the event. But maybe on another thread... And on a tangent. It's reassuring to find out that I haven't bought a lemon after all! mak
I was thinking of another garage - please excuse my ramblings. Good luck with your TR7.

They are pretty close to me too! I've had the Capri brake upgrade done by S&S too, big improvement over stock items Ray Edited August 8, 2006 by rayjones
Guest Raider
"I have been avoiding buying anything from them, but think I might have to." S&S are always my first point of call for parts - good honest advice from friendly, knowledgable enthusiasts. Blackburn and Rochdale ? I live near Skipton and know one or two local TR7 owners Edited August 24, 2006 by Raider
mak
I've already said that I got the name wrong - why can't people just let it lie. There really isn't a problem with S&S. The work they have done for me was second to none, their workshops when I visited were spotless, spacious and well appointed, so why the big deal?
claggy001
Hi Mak, If you're still stuck for Capri 2.8i brake calipers try Tickover - www.tickover.co.uk. My '7 has just spent a month with Robsport being recommissioned & the only item they were unable to supply 'off the shelf' was new/reconditioned calipers for the Capri braking upgrade. Spacers do seem to be a problem for Tickover, they usually swap the spacers from the customer's exchange calipers . They do have new, lightweight calipers in stock, don't know if these include the spacers. I tracked this company down on the internet, 4 hours later the parts were with Robsport being fitted! mak
Hi mark, Thanks for the tip - I found some locally in the end.(next street very randomly and a top bloke too!) Also found out that you can get the spacers for the calipers from rallydesign if you ever need any - think they are a popular upgrade for the ford escort rally crowd. (personally think they need telling that speed isn't everything - tr7's have that bit more style in my book!!)
