TonyL2
Hello, new member! My understanding based on the research I've done is that Engine numbers of TR4A were prefixed with CTC, the same as the chassis number. I've come across a couple of 1965 TR4As with the prefix CT and chassis prefix CTC. Is this OK or does it mean that an engine from another car has been substituted for the original? Many thanks Tony

Motorsport Mickey
Can’t tell from that Joe, that’s theTR4a cylinder head number, but many of us use that head on TR2/3/3a/4 and the 4a. So it could be any of those. Check out the actual engine number on the passenger side ( right hand driver) where there is a short (2” I guess) plateaued area on the side of the block near No3 spark plug lead. That’s where it’s stamped although maybe painted over, if so rub it off with Emery. Mick Richards
