Dave McDonald Posted May 10, 2020 Report Share Posted May 10, 2020 Can anyone advise please. I have a pair of output shafts from a Saloon diff which appear externally to be identical to TR5/6 units. Are they interchangeable with TR units? The splines seem to be identical but I'm sure I've heard somewhere that the saloon internal keyways/keys are smaller/lighter than TR items and could shear with the extra TR torque. dingle Posted May 10, 2020 Report Share Posted May 10, 2020 I noticed that keyways on a TR4A outer axles are 1/4" compared to 3/8" for the TR6. Probably the change was made to cope with the extra torque. Not sure if it would matter unless the car is flogged or raced. Berry Quote Link to post Share on other sites
