I'd check the drain holes first - if these are blocked you'll soon find the bottom of the doors being left on the driveway! The shape of the door allows water to sit and drain into the door, if the holes are bunged you'll find your car being advertised in the "accomodation to rent" section of "Rust Weekly". Same goes for the rear sills, these can be especially bad if the boot leaks.

 

Needless to say have a good check underneath, and I assume you've seen the buying guides and checked the scuttle, pulled the carpets back etc.
