marko
Hi All, I spoke to soon! The TR3A is playing up again! The Oil Leak is sorted (core plug and rear crank seal) The overheating is sorted (rad partial blockage & block filled with crud) Now my temperature gauge is mis-reading! It is showing 3/4 hot and sometimes even in the hot! - the engine temperature is perfect (even without the kenlowe running) - It has a smiths gauge fitted (not the correct dome type) and the temp sender, wiring, resistor and temp gauge have all been changed / swapped for testing If you earth the resistor to the body then the temp gauge just creeps off the cold - I don't think this is a true reading either!! Any help / ideas appreciated....
Don Elliott
You wrote about wiring and a resistor. It can't be like the original ones. They are a bulb in the thermostat housing with an expansion liquid that moves the needle.
marko
I've put a capillary gauge in and it is perfect! 78 degrees
