Alan and Liz
Hi All, I have just bought a K&N screw-on oil filter. I note that there is no mention of this having an oil spill-back valve. Does anyone know if a TR6 requires a spill-back valve? Or whether this is just basic good practice? Bearing in mind that on occasions my car probably spends a few days between runs, in between rain showers and commitments, I don't want to find that it takes a while for oil pressure to build whilst the filter and oilways re-charge. Thanks in anticipation.
Allan Jezzard
Assuming the "spin on" filter is mounted vertically (I.e. Hanging from the mount), oil cannot drain back into the engine, so no need for a non return valve. Cheers Allan
Kevo_6
Hi Alan & Liz Well Allan beat me to it. I use these oil filters and some times my car may stand idle for a couple of months and when I start her oil pressure comes up straight away.
