Owners blogs - TR Register website

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I wanted to bring this area of the new website to your attention.

http://www.tr-register.co.uk/rebuilders-diary

Stan Foster, a regular on this forum has done a really stunning job at sharing his TR rebuild story - if you have not yet read this yet I can highly recommend it.

Follow Stan Foster on this link: http://www.tr-register.co.uk/rebuilders-diary/author/1796/stan-foster

I would also like to encourage anyone inspired by Stan to also share their projects and stories. Doesn't have to be a rebuild, could just be a particular project you feel would be helpful or interesting to others.

Everyone can add a diary via your members area login ( http://www.tr-register.co.uk/members-area) and I look forward to seeing some more of your posts online!

I hope more people take advantage of this new feature. The system has a few quirks but once you get used to them it is pretty quick to add new entries and the pages render very nicely on all the devices that I have tested.

Here are the quirks that I have noticed:

  • Different browsers deliver different experiences adding and updating entries. I have had the best luck using the Edge browser on WIndows 10
  • Every picture that you upload must have a unique name so it is best to rename them before you upload to avoid name collisions.
  • If you want to include video clips it is best to upload them to Vimeo as the system will embed and render them correctly and Vimeo transcoded video will play on all devices.
  • To add images into the blog entry you use the add image button in the blog post editor (it looks like a couple of mountain peaks) but to add the image for header of the post you use the text box near the bottom labeled "Image" and if you click the Media Manager button it will allow you to navigate to the image that you want to upload. This image must be in landscape mode

Stan
