AlanG Posted August 21, 2015 Report Share Posted August 21, 2015 I'm rebuilding a TR6 J Type gearbox and just wondering whether to lubricate the ball and roller bearings with grease or just use gearbox oil. The roller bearings are in particular well hidden and I would guess take a little while to become fully 'wet'. Any views appreciated. Alan. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
TriumphV8 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Share Posted August 21, 2015 Not for the bearing but I tend to grease the shafts for the oil seals that they do not run dry on the shaft. A little drop of oil into the bearing will do no harm but is not necessary, they are not dry when delivered. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
