AlanG
Could somebody tell me the size of these? I inherited with the car two bearings measuring 3 1/8" x 1 1/4" x 7/8", marked RMS10 N and wonder if that is what these are. Cheers Alan.
AlanG
So if nobody knows the size could anybody tell me a manufacturers part number for the bearing. Thanks Alan.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
RMS10N is the main shaft bearing of the TR gearbox with a circlip groove I think you will find. Peter W
AlanG
You are dead right Peter. They do have the circlip groove. Was hoping to save a few quid off the diff rebuild but at least I now know what they are. Thanks Alan.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Here is one of my favourite sites with an interchange to manufacturer's nos. http://www.yoyopart.com/oem/10275640/bmc-134465.html and do not forget the 138523 seal - check which way round in the plate it goes. http://www.kakapart.com/search/directsearch/bmc-138523 Best price I have seen was £9.00 on ebay - could be **** though.... Try Bearing Boys perhaps. http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/LJ1_1_8_Imperial_Open_Ball_Bearing__RLS9_-5526-p It is the same as TR4A-6 + Stag + Tri 2000/2.5 car Cheers Peter W Edited August 2, 2015 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
AlanG
Thanks Peter. There is a bearing and seal supplier in Hull who are very good. George Lodge & Sons. No connection. If I could find a list of manufacturers part numbers of bearings and seals used on TR's this would allow a choice of price and manufacturer without having to remove the old one first. Alan . BlueTR3A-5EKT
Do Imisunderstand you? The link I have given to YoYo gives the orig makers and alternative pt nos. If you add BMC- before the Triumph number you get the alternative/original part no. As in BMC-134465 is a RLS9 from FAG etc The Moss catalogue will give you Standard Triumph pt nos. - Which bearings and seals do you seek? Cheers Peter W
AlanG
What I mean is that if I wanted a "diff pinion" bearing, for example, I could look up "diff pinion" on a list of TR bearings against which would be tabled a bearing manufacturers part number. Any manufacturer would do as the part number could be cross referenced. A bearing of the required quality and price could then be sourced from any supplier. Cheers Alan.
