Ignition coil polarity

Recommended Posts

I know this has been covered before, but I had to check out the coil on my 1935 Hillman today, & it was marked "CB" & "SW" The coil could be ment to go on a + earth, or a -ve earth car - did not know, so did a google search on the topic, & found this:

It is the best explanation I have seen, & shows an easy way to check the coil out (I used a moving coil meter - AVO 8)

& it showed that the coil was intended for -ve earth car, which is what my car is.

Bob.
