Tim D.
Hi chaps About 3 weeks ago after a run to the chelmondley pageant of power I noticed that my starter was labouring more than usual for the first turnover of the engine. Once turned over once the engine spun as usual before firing. I thought this meant the starter was giving up so exchanged it for a new hitorque. Seemed fine then same thing, but only when the engine was hot. Thought perhaps battery (which was 6 years old and of unknown history so replaced. Same issue. Alternator is also new. The issue is not preventing the car from starting, it just gives the impression that at some point the starter may give in. To reiterate it only occurs once the car is warm. Starting from cold is fine, mind you so is starting from hot once the first rotation of the engine is over. Cheers Tim
simonjrwinter
Had the same issue with the starter in my TR6 (Rover V8 engine) The windings in the starter were fried. Had it rebuilt and installed a starter heat shield. Never had another problem. Simon
