My entry has also been accepted for the run.

We are going up on Saturday, stopping at the Travel Lodge, next to the Craven Cattle Market.

Guys

Did I read the entry list right. Are Andy and Ade no longer the bandits of the novice class. Do you now have too many top 15s

If so, well done, and thanks for leaving the prizes to others.

See you next weekend,

Mark :D

'Fraid so Mark, 15th on the Jubilee last year (and beginners' award, beating all the novices in the process  :D ) followed by 14th on the Rally of the Tests, clinched it I'm afraid (plus I had a 3rd historic on the Mercian in the Mexico last year) ... used the TR on the Gremlin a couple of weeks ago (with Stan Appleton in the hot seat) and been rebuilding ever since (loose exhaust, broke both engine mounts, Kenlowe fell off, etc. etc.  :D ) and a disappointing 30th o/a, but out of 95 starters it wasn't bad, plus we had an 8 minute penalty we didn't deserve (making up 4 minutes on a 16 minute slack section but couldn't appeal as we left before the results came out) which would have put us at 21st. Doing the VK Rally in the TR this weekend in Derbyshire with Dave Sanderson, a bit risky but hoping for better luck and not too many things to fix before the Jubilee. Sorry Tony's not going to make it ... again!

and it is our club (IDMC) president in the imp infront.

eeeK! better behave ourselves then  :D

I suspect Ade's membership has run out now as he only joined on the day for last year's event as his KDMC card hadn't arrived ... it's a bit far for us to travel for club meetings  ???

Can't wait for Sunday now ... managed to survive the VK unscathed ... just got to swap onto tarmac tyres as the knobblies are falling apart and feel horrible on anything other than gravel. Have ordered some Dunlop D83J's in a 185/70R15 in X04 compound ... anyone any experience of them?

Of course, sorry Andrew, didn't recognise your handle  :D ... and thanks for taking the photos!

... talking of photos, I've made it into the M&H gallery at long last .... unfortunately in the Mexico as the TR wasn't finished ??? - hey ho!

Here's the link anyway 2005 Carpetbagger Rally and a nice Andy Manson shot of a TR4 on the 2004 Hughes Rally

Look forward to seeing you Sunday Andrew, Les, Mark, etc.  :D

Looks like its going to be a good turnout of TRActors on Sunday. Shame Tony couldn't make it. Just got the finals and somehow our start number got changed from 20 to 50 once they'd done the seedings :( (Andy - I know see the advantage of not being a novice) so I guess the'll be a lot of hanging about.

We're signing on very early on Sunday morning so will be around at the start for at least a couple of hours, So Andy, Ade, Andrew, Les et al. I'll try and look out for you at signing on or come and find me and i'll get some piccies of everyone for TRAction. We'll be in the shabby white TR4, number 50.

Of course our participation is entirely predicated on me sorting out the ignition problem that had me in the garage until 1am last night with no solution in sight. But it wouldnt be a rally without 11th hour fixes. Where is everyone staying on Saturday? Any chance of a beer?

Speaking of piccies: we seem to be specialising in cover shots recently. A superb shot Jon took whilst I was autotesting on the UAC Retro in Ireland last year has found its way onto the cover of the UAC Retro 2004 photo Gallery (have a look at www.ulsterac.dircon.co.uk) and we now seem to be on the cover of the regulations of this years Hughes. I can only assume that our lack of anti-roll bar and relatively slow speed make us an easy target for snappers everywhere.

See you at the weekend,

Mark

Great pictures of Ireland Mark - a TR AND beautiful scenery! What more could you ask!! The link to the Hughes Rally cover is Hughes Rally ... and don't worry about being seeded at 50 Mark, there's less pressure back there and 49 cars will have been along the route to show you the way with their tyre tracks and skid marks!! :D

Ade and I will be travelling over on the Sunday morning I'm afraid, so no late night drinking for us this time :(
