Valve Cover Outlet For A Weber Carb Setup

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

My question for those who have twin weber carbs is how do you run the vent line from the valve cover to the carbs? In my setup I have the vent line running to the carb input of the #1 carb, I do not like this setup because I feel that it bypasses all filters and dumps unfiltered gasses right into the weber and is causing my engine to run rich. Any thoughts?

Bob

I don't understand where you think there are the gasses coming from that would make the DGV's run rich..I can't see your arrangement affecting the mixture in any way whatsoever, The carbs are sucking in however much air that they need when you press down on the accelerator and open the throttles, be that free air coming in from the top of the filter element or from the crankcase thru the bottom of the filter.

The DGV jets and the Pierce manifold adaptor that is used to make the DGV work in the TR6 intake manifold tend to create a rich mixture to begin with in that carb conversion..not the air and vapors getting sucked in thru the air fillters.

I've seen a few of these conversions and most have used the connection to air filter housing, like you..

But you may give a call to these guys and see if they have any new ideas:
