Veneer to patch dashboard

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone - having a TR day today, the veneer on my teak? Dash is peeling in parts and small sections have chipped off. Need to tart her up for daughters wedding and don't relish £250 plus for new dash and prefer to keep original as poss. One of my club members suggested trying to patch, not costly if it doesn't work. I have found one place on eBay that sells small sheets of veneer, it would be teak that I order? I think it was veneered many years ago but I don't think it was varnished, think it was French polished. Wonder whether to varnish it all when done or just oil it? I will do it in situ if I do try to do it.
